Faith Kekana

Faith Kekana, is one of South Africa’s most renowned musical supporting acts and includes embarking on her solo career, releasing her debut album, Areyeng, showcasing her versatile musical prowess,  Entering the music scene in the 1980’s, she was the founding member of the girl trio Shadii, together with the late Anneline Malebo and Tshidi Leloka. Shadii enjoyed great acclaim, becoming the supporting acts to Bayete.

Faith has supported industry giants from Hugh Masakela to Miriam Makeba on stage and in studio. A a well-travelled songbird boasting credits on many albums from the late Moses Moleleka, Vusi Mahlasela and Mama Africa, on the tribute to the late Dolly Rathebe. With a number of memorable acting roles and theatre stage performances such as Bubbly Bosoms, combining performance elements of classic South African music, she was further part of the 2010 Soccer World Cup opening celebrations supporting and appearing with artists such as John Legend and Lira, also appearing at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland with Agelique Kidjo, there is no doubt that Faiths’ contribution to the world of music continues to shine.
